A K–8 school for 900 students, delivered across one summer break and opened on the first day of term.
The district had one summer between the last bell and the first day of term, and a 96,000-square-foot K–8 school to deliver in it. There was no slack for weather, late steel or a long punch list. If the building missed the date, 900 students had nowhere to go.
The approach.

- 01
Spring head start
Foundations and underground utilities went in under an early-work package, so summer opened with steel ready to fly.
- 02
Long-lead items bought first
Steel, rooftop units, switchgear and casework were released at GMP so nothing on the critical path waited on a factory.
- 03
Two shifts, one plan
Day and evening crews worked from a single pull plan, updated every morning at the trailer with each trade foreman.
- 04
Classrooms handed over in waves
Wings were punched and cleaned in sequence so teachers could set up rooms while the last finishes went in elsewhere.
The outcome.
“A school opening is the one date nobody can move. We planned the whole summer backward from the first bell.”
