A 12-story acute-care tower built beside a hospital that never closed, with 160 private rooms and a hardened emergency department.
The hospital needed 160 private rooms and a larger emergency department on a landlocked campus, without disrupting patient care. Every utility, every crane pick and every delivery had to work around a facility that operates around the clock.
The approach.

- 01
Preconstruction at concept
Six estimate cycles and early release of switchgear and air handlers locked in cost and schedule before design was complete.
- 02
Infection control by phase
Each phase began with a risk assessment agreed with clinical leaders, with negative-air barriers inspected daily.
- 03
Rehearsed tie-ins
Every utility shutdown was scripted, rehearsed and timed with hospital engineering before the night it happened.
- 04
Activation support
Our transition team coordinated equipment, staff training and the first patient moves.
The outcome.
“The hospital’s work came first every single day. Our job was to make the construction invisible to the people inside.”
